To benefit children and adults with special needs or disabilities by offering them the opportunity to interact with dedicated horses in a manner that promotes physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. We believe people can develop therapeutic relationships with horses, crossing boundaries of speech and physical disabilities in a way that encourages healing and improved self-esteem.
Garrod Farms’ unique location in the west Santa Clara foothills makes it a great place to board your horse. The property adjoins Mid-Peninsula Open Space Preserve and Stevens Creek County Park, giving our boarders access to over 20 miles of trails.
Our horses are in an academy setting year round and many have competed successfully at the top of their disciplines which means they are ready and willing to teach their riding partner a variety of skills and movements.
The Buffalo Equestrian Center provides for the education of riders at all levels, starting at age six. Both private and group lessons are taught Tuesday through Sunday all year. Instruction is provided for all levels of riding from beginner walk-trot through intermediate and advanced jumping. Adult lessons are also available. Students are encouraged to participate in the care and preparation of their horse and will be instructed in the uses of tack and equipment.
