CALVARYPHX is known for a love of God’s Word and celebration of His Grace toward us. One reason these qualities are so strong at Calvary goes back to our beginning in 1982 when Pastor J. Mark Martin left a legalistic, unbiblical denomination because he was compelled to teach the Good News of God’s love and salvation by faith in Jesus. Calvary, a non-denominational church, started with only 11 people in a northwest Phoenix elementary school band room and today has grown to be the church home for over 12,000 believers. You will love Pastor Mark’s dedication to the Word and how he brings the Bible alive in a way you can understand and enjoy. You can view or listen to a recent message online at our Media Library. We meet at two campus locations: a former shopping center right off the Black Canyon Freeway near Cactus, and also at a former theater located at 59th Avenue and Bell. Your kids will love our extensive and well-staffed Children’s Ministries, some of the best you’ll find anywhere.

Led by Pastor Derwin L. Gray, Transformation Church (TC) began with a group of 178 people who believed in God’s vision to be a multiethnic, multigenerational, mission-shaped community. God provided and transformed a warehouse with green Astroturf, batting cages, and no parking lot, into a worship space. On its first Sunday of services, February 7, 2010, the church welcomed over 700 people. Since then, TC has continued to grow exponentially, and thousands of ethnically and generationally diverse people have experienced the life-transforming love of Jesus and formed a local church.

We believe that people of all ages are capable of living an Upward–Inward–Outward life! We have enthusiastic, well-trained staff and servant leaders who have a passion for Christ and for kids. During all weekend services, we provide unique programs for kids ages 6 weeks to 5th grade. It’s our desire to create an engaging and safe environment during their weekly time with us.

The purpose of TC Teens is to help our teens live out the vision of Transformation Church! As part of a multiethnic, multigenerational, mission-shaped community, we want to help them to grow Upward, Inward and Outward. We do this by encouraging their growth as a Transformer (a follower of Jesus) in the 5 Characteristics of a Transformer: Worship, Connect, Serve, Give and Invite.

On March 24, 1996, Crossroads Community Church of Hyde Park “went public” in a Cincinnati neighborhood. About 450 people showed up that day to a rented room, intrigued by the promise of “great music, free coffee and real topics.” In the years since, Crossroads has grown tremendously. The goal was never size; the goal always was, and continues to be, based upon the ideas of authentic community, honest conversation and exploring the question: Where is God taking us next?

So where is Crossroads going? Only God really knows. But our short history has shown us that it’s a journey of creating something that hasn’t yet been seen, saying things that aren’t being said and trusting God to do something truly meaningful in and through a bunch of imperfect people. We’ve seen that kind of faith and dependence affect people within our community, our city, our country and, increasingly, our world. We expect God to continue to lead us through hard decisions that challenge the status quo. We’ll do these things because we believe that God uses them to bring all of us into a thriving life of freedom. And we’re all about that.
