Eli Howard Surf School & Camps
Eli Howard Surf School began in 1999. Aaron, the school’s first student stood up and rode a wave for his first time at South Ponto (South Ponto/Carlsbad State Beach). Since Aaron, the school has come a long way.
Eli Howard Surf School was founded by Leucadia locals Greg Eli Kessler, and Mike Howard Kessler. The brothers grew up in North San Diego County. They had a passion for surfing instilled at a young age. Attending a surf school and aquatic camp at Mission Bay as youngsters, they knew they’d be surfers the rest of their lives.
Having garned so much enthusiasm for surfing at a young age, and realizing how much a quality surf camp experience can makde a difference in people’s lives, they are now happy to give back to the sport that has given them so much. Since 1999, Eli Howard Surf School has taught thousands of people to surf, has conducted day surf camps for kids since 2001. Everyone from kids as young as five and six, all the way up to some in their 60’s and 70’s have learned a love of surfing through the school.
But this love of the water was not restricted to the ocean. The brothers, along with general manager and instructor Emily, all worked as river guides, whitewater rafting the class IV and V rivers of California and the world. Here they learned how to give the finest camping and outdoor experiences, and how to share their passions, while catering to the individual needs of people from all walks of life.
The result is that Eli Howard Surf School offers the finest quality surfing lessons, surf camps and outdoor experience possible.
Fantasy Fishing Camp (Ages 8-15)
Florida Fantasy Fishing Camp is a specialized day camp created right here in Tampa Bay. Lifelong Tampa angler, Parker Rabow, has created a fun and educational setting where young anglers can catch memorable fish while learning important sporting values on the water.
The camp has hand-picked a few of the best professional fishing guides in the area who are perfect for teaching and fishing with kids. Camps are filled with target casting clinics, knot tying lessons, boating safety classes, fishing seminars, casting tournaments, cast net throwing lessons and, of course, fishing! Slide show recaps of the day’s catch close out each camp day. All fishing and lessons are given by our professional fishing guides. This unique day camp is one you’ll never forget!
Mini Canes Sports Camps
Mini Canes Recreational Sports Camp offers educational recreational experiences in a high-quality, fun and safe learning environment to children aged 6-12 years old. The goal of Mini Canes Camp is to teach campers the importance of developing lifelong sports and recreation skills, all while having fun.
