Cellar Door Provisions is both a neighborhood cafe and an unusual little bistro all crammed into one tiny space in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. We serve pastries, breakfast, and lunch Wednesday through Sunday 8am-3pm. Our menu changes every week, and sometimes throughout a single week, depending on what we feel like eating, cooking, and what is available from our farmers. Our food is as much driven by technique as it is by our community oriented sourcing, and our inspiration for technique and menu building comes from wherever we may find it, whether that be in a spice blend commonly found in the middle east, a flavor combination commonly found in Laos, or a classic French way of preparing and presenting a certain vegetable. We make almost everything we serve in house: bread, butter, pastries, many spice blends, yogurt, cheese; we culture, ferment, dehydrate, and powder constantly and as much as we possibly can, always searching for a further deepening of flavor by involving ourselves ever earlier in the stages of preparation of the food we make. We strive to make food that touches one’s soul and strikes a deep chord, food that inspires ever more honesty in cooking, eating, and purchasing things to cook and eat, and food that is of a level one would find at a high end fine dining restaurant but at much more accessible prices and enjoyed in a much more relaxed environment, one full of welcome, love, and care.

*We are open Wednesday through Sunday 8am-3pm, with bread, quiche, another breakfast dish, and Four Letter Word Coffee available starting at 8, pastry coming out of the oven all morning, and lunch starting at 11 and going until 3.
